Dr. Mark A. Ivester Center North Georgia Technical College

XNDT performed the Structural Steel Inspections and NDT Testing for this project, which initially aimed to renovate the former Cy Grant Gymnasium into classrooms, fitness facilities, a gym, student common areas, and an outdoor patio. The design honored the late North Georgia Technical College president’s vision—“Living and Learning in the Mountains”—blending history with an environment that fosters health, fitness, and education.

Built in 1947, the historic Cy Grant Gymnasium was a landmark on Georgia Highway 197 but had remained largely unused since the early 2000s due to its deteriorating interior. Structural assessments revealed significant deficiencies, leading to a revised plan that included the full demolition of the existing structure and the construction of a new, modern facility. The project incorporates sustainable design elements and will achieve Georgia Peach certification.

    Renaissance Atlanta Midtown Hotel

Located in Midtown Atlanta, the Renaissance Atlanta Midtown Hotel is a 207,500 SF luxury boutique hotel, the first of its kind in the city. Formerly Hotel Palomar, it was rebranded as Renaissance Atlanta Midtown. The 20-story, 304-key hotel features a street-level drop-off and a fine dining signature restaurant.

Guests enter through a mid-block entrance on West Peachtree Street into a two-story lobby with a signature fireplace. Amenities include a 150-seat restaurant, a 100-seat rooftop bar terrace, a 1,100 SF fitness center, a 5,000 SF ballroom, boardrooms, a business center, and a cocktail lounge. The podium offers parking for 119 cars.

The compact +0.9-acre urban site posed design challenges, requiring a pedestrian-friendly layout. Strategically placed entrances enhance street engagement and accessibility.

XNDT conducted the Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and Structural Steel Special Inspection, ensuring structural integrity and safety.

SANDY SPRINGS POLICE DEPARTMENT hq AND MUNICIPAL COURT

XNDT takes great pride in conducting the non-destructive testing (NDT) for the forthcoming Sandy Springs Police Department Headquarters and Municipal Court, slated to be situated at 620 Morgan Falls Road. The property spans 7.42 acres and presently encompasses a solitary four-story office building along with a parking lot. Constructed in 1990, the building boasts a brick and glass veneer, steel-frame structure spanning 106,678 square feet. Having undergone one significant renovation, the current plan calls for an expansion to accommodate a total of 130,542 square feet, including a 23,864-square-foot addition to the existing structure. The breakdown of the expanded space includes 110,763 square feet designated for the Police Headquarters, 11,295 square feet for the Courthouse/Lobby Addition, and an additional 8,484 square feet for the Sally Port Addition, which is external to the main building.

        Porsche Atlanta Northwest dealership

XNDT proudly performed non-destructive testing (NDT) for the Porsche Atlanta Northwest dealership, seamlessly integrating innovation with luxury across its 91,200 square feet of space. Within the facility, customers can explore a 13-vehicle showroom, utilize a design lounge to customize their ideal vehicles, relax in a welcoming coffee bar, experience exclusive new-vehicle delivery areas, access 21 service bays, and utilize a covered service drive.

          Gateway Pedestrian Bridge

The College Park Gateway Pedestrian Bridge and Trail project is a 1.08-mile pathway that connects downtown College Park to the Georgia International Convention Center and the ATL SkyTrain at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. This project enhances pedestrian and cyclist mobility, providing a crucial link between the city's historic downtown and its airport district.

Key features include a 200-foot suspension bridge that spans Camp Creek Parkway, designed for functionality and as an architectural landmark. The project is largely funded by a $15.4 million grant from the Atlanta Regional Commission and is expected to improve access to transportation and local businesses, boosting economic growth.

XNDT played a pivotal role in ensuring the bridge's structural integrity by performing non-destructive testing (NDT) on the field complete joint penetration welds for the main structural steel components. This testing was critical for verifying the quality and safety of the welds, which are essential to the overall stability of the bridge
